That's the 'adult way' of handling what is thrown at you. I completely agree with everything you said here.

The other day I wrote about the nonsense of 'sanitizing' the English language by avoiding strong words like 'killing two birds with one stone' because apparently the word 'killing' triggers negative emotions.

The trigger warnings are similar in the sense that they put the onus on the sender of the message. Everyone is afraid and anxious about offending others and end up not communicating effectively.
